Auburn Police promote exceptional officers

Officer Darrell Downing was promoted to the rank of Corporal.

Corporal Jimmy Butler will assume the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Joe Morris was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.

AUBURN, AL - Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson announced the promotions of three of his officers.

“I am proud of these men and their successes,” said Chief Dawson. “I know they will continue to faithfully serve and protect the fine citizens of our community,” he added.

Lt. Morris currently serves as a Patrol Shift Commander while Sgt. Butler will be serving as a Patrol Shift Supervisor and Cpl. Downing a Training Officer.
