Auburn cadets place 3rd in statewide competition

Cadets from the Auburn Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), placed 3rd overall in the Alabama Wing’s Cadet Color Guard Competition this weekend.

Teams from across Alabama converged on Maxwell Air Force Base to compete in the competition which included a written exam on leadership theory and principles, a panel quiz on aerospace history and dynamics, physical fitness test, uniform inspection and indoor and outdoor flag ceremonies.

Applebee's serving free meals for Veteran's Day

AUBURN, AL - For the third consecutive year nationwide, Applebee's expects to serve more than one million free Thank You meals to Veterans and Active Duty Military.

Applebee's is doing even more to thank veterans and troops this year through the recently launched Thank You Movement, an ongoing initiative to collect millions of thanks for U.S. Veterans and Active Duty Military.

Goo Goo Car Wash offering Veteran's Day special

AUBURN, AL - Veterans may visit the Goo Goo 3 minute express washes located in Columbus, Ga., Tifton, Ga., Americus, Ga. Albany, Ga. and Auburn, Alabama 8am-7pm on Thursday, November 11, 2011 to receive a complimentary $6 car wash. Goo Goo believes that it is important to remember those who have served our country and has designed a program to emphasize the importance of support for veterans by the general public. Veterans will only need to inform Goo Goo verbally that they are veterans in order to receive their free car wash.
