Two teens arrested for weekend burglary spree

AUBURN, AL - Two Auburn teens were arrested over the weekend for stealing a truck, but they are also suspects in a string of burglaries.

Auburn Police arrested two male juveniles, ages 15 and 17, and charged each with theft of property on Sunday, Oct. 7.

The arrests come after an investigation into a stolen 2008 Ford F-150 that was reported stolen early Sunday.

The owner told polce that the truck was parked at his home on Summertrees Dr.

Police also think the two teens were involved in four residential burglaries and several automobile burglaries over the weekend.

The burglaries were reported at homes on Brookside Dr., East Veterans Blvd., Camellia Dr., and Summertrees Dr.

The pickup truck and some of the property stolen in those burglaries has been recovered.

Among the items recovered is a handgun and numerous electronic items including laptops, iPods and cell phones.

The pair was transported to the Lee County Youth Development Center where they are currently being held.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are likely.
